For Suzuki Cello, Violin & Viola Students from Book 4 to Post Book 10 (there are no individual auditions required).
An exciting new initiative designed to bring wider community of Suzuki violinists, violists and cellists together.
These orchestras give students, unable to make weekly rehearsals, a chance to come together to learn and experience ensemble playing.
The Festival Orchestras are driven from individual teachers and their studios. Collect your music and practice your parts with your teacher and then attend our rehearsal workshop once a term.
This program will incorporate two new and exciting orchestral groups: the Festival Orchestra and the Training Ensemble:-
Festival Orchestra
The Festival Orchestra will be our flagship performance group and is open to the following string instruments:
Violins & Cellos - Book 7 & above
Violas - Book 6 & above
This orchestra will debut at our annual Graduation Concert at the Sydney Opera House on 8 November 2015. There will be four rehearsals held throughout the year at various venues around Sydney.
All participants will be required to attend at least two rehearsals (including the final rehearsal), to be eligible to perform in the Festival Orchestra item at the Graduation Concert.
Training Ensemble
Our Training Ensemble will feature exciting repertoire, concentrating on strengthening ensemble skills and reading. This ensemble will also have performance opportunities throughout the year and at our National Conference in September.
Open to the following strings instruments:
Violins & Cellos - Book 4 - 6
Violas - Books 3 - 5
There will be three rehearsals (Terms 1 - 3) held over the year at various venues around Sydney
